Griot’s Garage BOSS G15 Brushless Polisher for Professional Paint Correction
Achieve fast, controlled paint correction and a refined professional finish with the Griot’s Garage BOSS G15 Brushless Long-Throw Orbital Polisher. Its powerful direct-drive brushless motor, balanced 15 mm orbit, adjustable operating speed, and ergonomic grip system make it an excellent choice for enthusiasts and professional detailers who want efficient correction with greater comfort and control.
Product Overview
The Griot’s Garage BOSS G15 Brushless Long-Throw Orbital Polisher is engineered for professional-level paint correction, polishing, and finishing. Its 500-watt direct-drive brushless motor minimizes drivetrain power loss and delivers consistent power directly to the polishing pad. The 15 mm orbital throw provides an effective balance between correction speed, finishing ability, and manoeuvrability across a wide range of vehicle panels.
A six-setting speed dial provides an operating range of 3,000 to 5,300 orbits per minute, while the dual-pivot variable-speed trigger allows precise speed control from multiple hand positions. A fan-cooled steel counterbalance, advanced heat-management system, sealed bearings, and ergonomic double-shot rubber grips help reduce vibration, heat, noise, and fatigue during extended polishing sessions.

Why It Works
The BOSS G15 combines a broad 15 mm orbital movement with a 500-watt direct-drive brushless motor to deliver efficient defect removal without relying on a conventional geared drivetrain. Adjustable speed, a variable-speed trigger, balanced counterweight, sealed bearings, and integrated cooling provide the control and consistency required for both correction and finishing. The 5-inch backing plate also offers a practical balance of panel coverage and maneuverability.
Frequently Asked Questions
Is the BOSS G15 suitable for beginners?
Yes. Its dual-action orbital movement, adjustable speed, and ergonomic controls make it approachable for enthusiasts. New users should begin with a mild pad and polish combination, work on a cool surface, and test the process in a small area first.
What size polishing pads should I use?
The included backing plate is designed for compatible 5-inch backing-plate polishing systems. Always confirm that the pad is properly centered and suitable for the backing plate before operating the machine.
What is the difference between a 15 mm and 21 mm polisher?
A 15 mm polisher generally provides a versatile balance of correction speed and maneuverability. A larger 21 mm orbit can cover large, relatively flat panels more quickly, while the 15 mm format is easier to control around curves, contours, and tighter panel areas.
Can it be used for both compounding and finishing?
Yes. The machine can support compounding, polishing, and finishing by changing the pad, polishing liquid, operating speed, pressure, and working technique.
Does it include a polishing pad?
The manufacturer’s included-items list identifies the polisher, backing plate, power cord, and hex key. A polishing pad is not identified as an included component and should be selected separately for the intended correction or finishing process.
Does the trigger lock for longer polishing sessions?
Yes. The dual-pivot variable-speed trigger includes a built-in lock for extended operation.
How long is the power cord?
The polisher includes a 25-foot quick-connect 18 AWG SJO rubber power cord.
How should the polisher be maintained?
Keep the ventilation openings clean, inspect the cord and backing plate before use, and clean polishing residue from the tool after each session. Disconnect the machine from power before changing accessories, cleaning, or performing maintenance.
